As much as I hate the V8 in a Z car, this one’s a beast.  Vette motor + snail = smoke everywhere.

I’ve been searching for a project Z car for my uncle, so if anyone has leads on a cheap one ($1,000-$1,500 or so budget), let me know.  The more complete and less rust, the better, although he is the bodyshop manager for Mercedes here in Honolulu so he knows his way around rust and damage repair.  The plans are to get a project Z and drop in a V8 (although it probably won’t be as built as this specimen), so the engine running smoothly doesn’t have to be a top priority.  I had someone offering to sell me a ’73 for $1500 with triple Webers but he backed out at the last minute.  PLEASE BE ON THE LOOK OUT!

As porno as a L series sounds through three big Webers you can’t argue that a hot LS1 wouldn’t also make a soul stirring noise.
Plus the whole all-alloy deal would probably be lighter than an L motor. I’d lose the turbo though, you don’t need that much speed in a street car.
