I was browsing the JNC project Hako build thread and the age old discussion came up about the unicorn of all parts… the OS Giken TC-24 dual cam head. There was a lot of heresy stemming from last years SEMA show, when OS Giken had their crown jewel on display. Rumors of the head being remade and to be offered for $30,000 have been floating around since then. The rumors are true… and it gets even wilder.
Kev from JNC spoke to an Aussie OS-Giken distributer who confirmed that as of now, six heads cast in the 80’s have been set aside and all have been spoken for. One for a lucky Australian Z car nut, five slated to be delivered to U.S. enthusiasts, and a final head for OS Giken’s demo car. More heads are planned for casting with a current price tag of just under $42,000. OS Giken is also planning to sell a 3.2 liter crate motor complete with IRTBs and a header for a mind-boggling $90,000! 400HP at 11,000 RPMs? Yes please!
By the way, what’s the going rate for one’s kidney nowadays?
The boys over at Riverside sure do know how to have a good time. From the stars in the background of the blog to the 9 INCH WIDE SSR Star Sharks under metal fenders… it’s killin’ me. This car almost makes me wish I picked up a two or four door sedan just so I can have the independent rear instead of a solid axle.
Don’t believe the hype, you can go crazier than 7″ wheels with 0 offset on a 510! HAHA!

After sleeping over at Justin’s house and being stuck in the garage for the majority of the night due to pouring rain, the sky cleared up on Saturday for a nice, albeit hot day. We woke up decently early and rolled on over to Aloha Stadium to check out HellaFlush.
It was a really good show with a wide variety of builds and a lot of projects saw their debut.
I finally got to check out Lance Harano’s Sprinter up close. This thing is amazing!
Royden’s Corolla wagon rolling on Watanabes. I think he said 15×9″ -13.
This black on black Supra kept drawing me back. Targa top with the cage looks TOUGH!
Hachi crew. I love all of their wheels.
Crazy Nissan Hardbody with some Boso looking flares. I saw it another car show with it’s hood open… VQ power baby!
Super clean Toyota truck on some 17″ SSR Reverse Mesh. I want a truck now…
I only took shots of stuff that interests me, but if you’re interested in seeing the rest check out SpeedHawaii for the full coverage.
Brice and I went over to Justin’s house to help him tear apart the blown two liter 3tc that he had gotten his hands on. Justin and the Mad Scientist tore tore apart the block to salvage whatever parts they could, but the piston rings were fried (Fast and the Furious reference for extra points!). I mostly just slept in Brice’s Cressida.
Justin’s Hulk-like arms made quick work of engine.
The 3tc was freshly rebuilt with some pretty choice parts. ARP studs, extra capacity oil pan, new bearings and seals… All worthless when the stock rod decided to grenade itself and smash through the block.
But what happened to the missing chunks out of the con rod? We peeled off the oil pan to find the carnage… MMM milk and metal chunks!

Brice is ALWAYS jumping into my shots. Sleeper Cressida and the Goon.
Oh and I forgot. I also got my hands on this a couple of weeks before I got the wagon. Dual cam KA24. I highly doubt I’m gonna put this in the car though.
Oh and my brass shifter bushings came in. I love getting something good amongst the bills and junk mail!

Found this here on Ratsun. Laser etched plate to last another 40 years. Just a nice touch to your SR swapped 510. I might get one to hang onto, even though it’s for a PL510 (wagons are WPL510’s)… It would be very cool to have nonetheless.

Check out the DOPEST Fairlady I’ve ever seen.
I’m LOVING the wood grain accents everywhere! Custom door handles, emblems and…
… the valve cover of the of the S14 SR20DET that now powers this petite roadster.
What’s next? Some fat flares to house the custom 15 x 11 SSR Longchamps and an engine rebuild with the goal of taming over 400 horses.
